Desert edition

FIRST STEP

• Connect to the website from a computer
• Click on subscribe to the desert edition
• Complete the online registration form
• Accept the rules and conditions of the event 
• Enter your identity and contact details
• Accept the terms of the personal accident agreement and the table of insurance guarantees taken out by the organizer
• Take out or refuse the optional cancellation insurance offered 
• Accept the program and what it includes
• Pay registration fees
• Pay by credit card a deposit of 50% of the registration fees (+ 5% invoiced by the platform for online file management)

SECOND STEP

The organization sends by email the information necessary to compile the medical file.

A period of time is granted for the completeness of the medical file and the sending of the documents required by the organization's doctor (the only person able to consult any medical file according to the regulations of the order of doctors)

REQUIRED MEDICAL PARTS

• A medical certificate dated less than 6 months before the event duly established by the referring doctor.
• An ECG, electrocardiogram – stress test less than 2 years old for participants over 50 years old.

STEP THREE

• Log in to the registration file 
• Provide information on sporting experience and walking pace
• Enter emergency contacts
• Provide information relating to your valid passport (or identity card for Moroccan nationals)
• Insert a copy of the identity document used to travel
• Pay the balance of registration fees and chosen options by credit card (+ 5% charged by the platform for online file management)

A PROGRESSIVE PATHWAY

• Itinerant trek of around 70 km in total over 3 days
• Terrain: pebbles, rocks, small stumps, earth, sand…
• Altitude: + or – 700 meters 
• Elevation gain: + or – 500 meters on the first day
• Passage: the first day 
• Average temperatures in December: daily between 5° and 25° and nighttime between 0° and 10°

VERY SPORTY LEVEL

• 6 to 8 hours of walking per day excluding lunch breaks
• + or - 20 km traveled every day for a total of around 70 km 
• An off-the-beaten-track route between mountains and sandy desert
• Uneven terrain: earth, pebbles, rocks, small stumps and sand
• An altitude of + or – 700 meters and a pass passage
• A total positive altitude difference of + or – 500 meters
• Very good physical condition required
• Necessary training with practice of an endurance sport 

ACCESSIBILITY AND PREPARATION

Solidarity trek without competition!

The Trek Des Gazelles By Mélanie is accessible to all women in good physical condition who practice regular physical and sporting activity.

All women can register from the age of majority, from 18 years old to 70 years old.

A trek requires minimum training to be able to withstand the effort over long distances, and thus enjoy walking for the entire duration of the trek.

The sports director, accompanied by the organization's doctor, will be the only people capable of forming the walking groups based on each person's usual pace, sporting experience and medical file (consulted only by the organization's doctor)
