MARRAKECH & the AGAFAY DESERT
"Its white hills stand out from the landscape and resemble the dunes of the Sahara. Lost in this desert universe, we find a few small oases, true havens of peace and tranquility where the fauna and flora survive.
A few Berber villages cling to this austere land to make it welcoming and sublimate it."

MEETING
IN THE MARRAKCHI DESERT
The discovery of a site of rare beauty located at the gates of the ocher city. The Agafay desert extends over the foothills of the High Atlas massif.
This reg is impressive for its isolation and its desert expanses; Made up of hills shaped by erosion, deep canyons, cliffs and dry wadis give it the impression of American movie sets. The whitish color of its limestone rocks and the sandstone of the slate contrast with the blue of the sky and the snow-capped peaks of the Moroccan High Atlas.
THE FLORA OF AGAFAY
Nature clings to this hungry, warm land.
The vegetation composed of oleanders, groves, wild asparagus, prickly pears and date palms shares the rare water points with pretty gardens where pomegranate and olive trees are cultivated.
A few ancestral eucalyptus trees complete the landscape.
THE WILDLIFE OF AGAFAY
Beetles, locusts, scorpions, small rodents and foxes live between the rocks and crevices of this desert.
Kestrels, owls, great owls, and African bee-eaters nest in the cliffs that border the dry wadis.
The curiosity of this territory is the Eugastere spinulosa, this impressive insect that we come across on the slopes of Agafay.
